As well as providing a green chemical carpet cleaning I have been thinking about adding a couple new services.
First, Dryer vent cleaning. I think this would be a great service to offer. We all have them and they need to be cleaned out. I have also been thinking of adding HWE (hot water extraction) Also known as "steam cleaning". Some people like steam cleaning better than low moisture cleaning and vice versa. I wouldn't mind being able to offer a "dual method" when it comes to carpet cleaning. We shall see what happens.

Steam cleaning vs. Low Moisture/Chemical Cleaning
This is a topic that is debated daily. What is the best method? Let me just say this. It comes down to personal choice for the consumer. Some people love steam cleaning also known as Hot Water Extraction (HWE). Others prefer low moisture cleaning also referred to as chemical cleaning by some of my customers. Both of these methods have their place and both can achieve excellent results.
I have been cleaning carpets for 18 years and have always done low moisture cleaning. I have done some HWE as well. I find that the quick drying times that low moisture cleaning achieves (typically only taking a couple hours to dry) is what attracts alot of my customers to use us. Also, the green products we use has attracted more and more new customers as well. I find myself all over the valley cleaning carpets for new customers that had always used HWE in their home. After I demo an area to show the customer what their carpet will look like they are usually amazed at the results and how dry the carpet fibers are. The nice thing is, the method and cleaning agent that ChemBright uses is water based so it doesn't attract any dirt and also green so it is safe for kids and pets.
Before you hire a carpet cleaner. Look into what type of method they use and find out which one you prefer. Ask alot of questions as well.

What a great day!
I have a customer that I have been doing work for a few years now. She has given me alot of referrals in the past couple years and she had me out to a park model developement that she manages to clean som tile and grout in the womens bathroom. The calcium buildup was really bad and they had no success getting it clean. I spent a couple hours and alot of elbow grease getting this clean. Turned out great! She then took my business info and put me on her vendors list. They have eight properties and one of them called me today to give them a quote on a recreation room that they need the carpets cleaned in.
I love days like this. I wish there were more of them but then I probably would have to hire someone to help me out. I find that people love the quick drying times and the green cleaning products we use. It seem to create alot of business and repeat business as well. A water based green cleaning process like the one we use works real well. There are so many benifits to it. Hope fully we will attrack more and more accounts like these. I really enjoy working with the management on these type of places (park models).

$6.95 per room Carpet cleaning ads
Have you ever received one of those carpet cleaning ads in the mail that say "Any room carpet cleaned for $6.95"? Sounds appealing doesn't it? Remember that saying "you get what you pay for"? It's true in this situation.
Those carpet cleaning ads that show up in all of our mailboxes are what's called in the industry as "bait & switch" ads. They get people to call because of the price and then when the carpet cleaning tech shows up a whole new story begins. The price that was quoted to you over the phone soon turns to dust. These company's try to charge you for prespraying (which every carpet cleaner should do anyways), spot removal (another part of normal carpet cleaning) and then they mention the fine print of the ad....."price per sq ft for dirty carpet". Isn't that why you hired them? To clean your "dirty" carpet? Now your $50 whole house cleaning quote just turned into $300-$500. I have seen this happen many times. It is one way I pick up new customers. The new customer just hired one of these outfits and didn't fall for the scam at the door and ended up calling Chembright. Problem is, these company's give all of us honest carpet cleaners who love what they do a bad name.
So please, next time you see one of these ads please be careful. Always ask about a written guarantee for whomever you hire in the service industry. Make sure they are Licensed, Bonded and Insured. Get references from them if necessary. I havn't seen any low moisture chemical cleaning company's use these type of ads. It seems to be the "splash and dash" steam cleaning guys who have no clue what they are doing. There are many steam cleaning company's out there that have a great system and have pride in what they do. Here in the arizona east valley I know of a few and they are good frinds of mine. So again, just look into who you hire.

Carpet cleaning and the economy
Alot of tough times for everyone right now. I know several small business's that have had to shut their doors. I am very greatful that I have been able to keep ChemBright going. We have had our slow months but overall things have been good. We have never been the most expensive carpet cleaner in the Arizona valley but have always given great service along with an affordable price and I think that has been what has helped our doors stay open. Good service in any field is hard to come by nowdays.
I find that people who normally would have replaced their carpets are now cleaning them to save money. Many customers of mine have been in this boat and have called us out to remove carpet stains and spots that they thought were permanent. Good thing is that after the carpet cleaning was done you could see that there is possibly a few more years left in the carpet. Having a good carpet cleaning schedule setup can prolong the life of your carpet and therefore save a homeowner thousands in the long run. The low moisture carpet cleaning process we do here at ChemBright works great on carpets as well as has quick dry times. Typically between 30-90 minutes. We use a green carpet cleaning product to clean with as well. Great for people who have kids and pets. So keep this in mind. If you think your carpets need replacing. Give your local or favorite carpet cleaning company a call and see what they can do for you before you put thousands into new carpet
